Nine males gang-raped a young woman in the Nijarapar neighborhood of Boragaon, which is located on the southeast edge of Guwahati city. The suspects not only committed the horrible conduct, but they also utilized their cell phones to record it. Following the widespread release of a video of the November 17 gang rape, the Guwahati police have detained seven people and are still looking for two additional suspects. Kuldeep Nath, Bijoy Rabha, Pinku Das, Gagan Das, Saurav Boro, Mrinal Rabha, and Dipankar Mukhiya are the seven suspects in the Guwahati gang rape case who have been detained; Robin Das and Krishna are still at large. According to Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Barah, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Friday, the officer-in-charge at the Gorchuk A media representative from a local news channel, Dharmendra Kalita, had informed the police station about a film that was making the rounds among the people living in the Boragaon region. According to the Police Commissioner, the video seemed to depict a group of young guys and a woman engaging in gang rape. Officer-in-Charge Inspector Mayurjit Gogoi and SI Kajal Dutta, together with their team, immediately conducted raids at many sites within the jurisdictions of Gorchuk and Jalukbari Police Stations based on this information and after reviewing the video. Seven of the people shown in the video were consequently taken into custody.
