About IoT..

The IoT ,is a system of interrelated computing

devices, mechanical and digital machine, objects,

animals or people that are provide with unique

identifiers(UIDs) and the ability to transfer data

over a network without requiring human to human

or human to computer interaction.

The definition of IoT has evolved due to the

convergence of multiple technologies, real time

analysis , machine learning, commodity sensors,

and embedded systems.

11/27/20 4

Need of IoT..

IoT wants to connect all potential objects to interact

each other on the internet to provide secure,

comfort life for human.

It expanding interdependence of human to interact,

contribute and collaborate to things.

Sensors

A sensor is a device that measure, detects and responds to some type

of input from the physical environment.

The input could be heat, light, motion, pressure, moisture or any

other environmental phenomena. And the output is in form of signals

which either display or transmitted electronically over a network.

There are different types of sensors:

**_1. Temperature sensor

  1. Proximity sensor
  2. Pressure sensor
  3. Chemical/Smoke sensor
  4. Gas sensor
  5. IR sensor_**

Connectivity

Most of the smart devices and sensor can be

connected to low power wireless networks like Wi-

Fi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, Z-wave, LoRAWAN…

The low power low cost wireless transmitting

devices are promising in the area of IoT due to its

long battery life and efficiency.

Edge IT:

Once IoT data has been digitized and

aggregated, it’s ready to cross into

the realm of IT.

However, the data may require

further processing before it enters

the data center. This is where the

edge IT system which perform more

analysis comes into play.

Edge IT processing systems may be

located in remote offices or other

edge locations, but generally these

seat in the facility or location where

the sensor reside closer to the

sensor, such as in wiring closet.

Cloud..

With the help of IoT ecosystem, companies are able

to collect bulk data from the devices and application.

There are various tool that are used for data

collection, process, handle and store the data

efficiently in real time, and also making though

decision.

One of the most important components of IoT cloud

is database management that is distributed in nature.

The cloud basically combines many devices, gateways,

protocols, devices and a data store that can be

analysed efficiently.

Applications:

IoT applications promise to bring immense value

into our lives with newer wireless networks.

There are some real world application of IoT:

1) Smart Home

11/27/20 13

Applications:

2) Wearable
3) Connected Cars
4) Industrial Internet
5) Smart Cities
6) IoT in Agriculture
7) Smart Retail
8) Energy Engagement
9) IoT in Healthcare
10) IoT in Poultry and Farming

Future prediction of IoT:-

By 2025, there will be more than 21billion IoT device.

More cities will become “smart”.

Artificial intelligence will continue to become bigger.

Router will become more secure and smarter.

5G network will continue to fuel IoT growth.

Cars will get even smarter.

Security and privacy concern.

Future researches on IoT:

Accessing Attendance Of An Organization Through IoT.

Pros:-

Communication

 IoT encourages the communication between devices, also famously known as Machine-to-Machine

(M2M) communication.

Automation and control

 Due to physical objects getting connected and controlled digitally and centrally with wireless

infrastructure, there is a large amount of automation and control in the workings.

Monitor

 The second most obvious advantage of IoT is monitoring, it provide more information that could not have

previously been collected easily.

Saves time and efficient

 The machine-to-machine interaction provides better efficiency, hence; accurate results can be

obtained fast. This results in saving valuable time. Instead of repeating the same tasks every day, it

enables people to do other creative jobs.

Saves money

 Optimum utilization of energy and resources can be achieved by adopting this technology and

keeping the devices under surveillance.

Better quality of life

 All the applications of this technology culminate in increased comfort, convenience, and

better management, thereby improving the quality of life.

11/27/20 17

Conclusion

Although IoT has quite a few disadvantages, its

advantages of saving the consumer time and money

can’t be ignored.

So the time is not far when the internet of things

will be commonly seen in both household and

companies.
