Fast-Track Graduate Program (FTG) Application

Overview- The Fast-Track Graduate (FTG) Program was initiated by
Superintendent, Dr. Zickeyous Byrd, to offer innovative options for early
high school graduation for our self-motivated students who strive to enter
college, the military, or the workforce early. The FTG Program is an
additional option for students with severe health and personal crises as
well.
Several criteria are identified for students to qualify for the FTG
Program:
3 or less unexcused absences for the current academic year
3 or less Class I or Class II Discipline Referrals
0 Class III or Class IV Discipline Referrals
2.75 Cumulative GPA
17 or higher on ACT
Silver Level on Workkeys
Evidence of college acceptance, college enrollment, employment,
military orders/enlistment, or documented health or personal crises
(case by case basis)
Submission of the Application: Upon the completion of the application
packet which includes the following: Prerequisites Form (Step 1),
Teacher Recommendation Form (Step 2), and FTG Essay (Step 3), the
student will take their completed application to the Guidance Counselor to
finalize the packet with all supporting documentation and submit it to the
principal for final review/approval. The principal will sign approving or NOT
approving the student for the FTG Program. ***Evidence is subject to
approval of the principal. Superintendent reserves the right to grant
acceptance to the FTG program on a case by case basis.

*****Step 3: FTG Essay-** The purpose of the FTG Essay is to ensure that FTG candidates have solid writing skills to survive in college, career, military, and beyond. Directions: In the space below, please write an argumentative essay of 500-600 words. Include your position statement and 3 reasons why you should be accepted into the FTG Program. Essays will be graded using Conecuh County Schools’ high school writing rubric.
