STAGE1 OF SSB – SCREENING PHASE (day 1 of SSB)

GET SCREENED IN EVERY TIME. BUT YOU

CAN ASSURE YOUR SCREENING UPTO

MAXIMUM

Officers intelligence rating test

  • (^) This test consist of two booklets Like DIPR BOOKLET 34 & 35 or any other booklet.
  • (^) Both booklets consist verbal and non verbal questions.
  • (^) Time is allotted based on difficulty level of booklets like DIPR SET 34 Qs. are 35 and time allotted is 20 minutes (appx). A booklet can have maximum of 50 qs. And time will be allotted accordingly.
  • (^) For a candidate its very important to grab OIR rating 1 or 2. Candidates Below OIR 2 are likely to get screened out.
  • (^) OIR is always checked and used in stage 1 and even in stage 2 of SSB.

PICTURE PERCEPTION

  • (^) PICTURE PERCEPTION –
  1. Observing hazy picture for 30 sec deliberately and noticing small details like type of picture rural and urban. Noting the type of background, characters number, their outfit, their gender, their mood.
  2. Correct box marking – marking characters in provided and doing circle on the character that gains the attention. He can be or cannot be the hero ( 1 min total time included in 5 minutes) no indication will be given to write story.)
  3. Story writing – writing story in 4 min. It is the test of imagination. You have to write the story around the picture but do not have to describe the picture. Just express your thoughts while writing without thinking about beauty of expression. consider emotions and feelings of character while writing story. While writing the story you have to write “what led to the situation”? What is currently happening?, what is the likely outcome?

Do’s and don'ts's of narration.

  • (^) Narrate your story loudly, clearly, fluently. Don’t rush while narrating.
  • (^) Don’t take pauses and fillers in between.
  • (^) Don’t repeat words of your story that are already spoken.
  • (^) Don’t commit grammatical errors.
  • (^) Look at eyes of candidates only not at assessors.
  • (^) Always sit in good posture. Don’t sit in dull way.
  • (^) Maintain good hairs, good dressing sense.
  • (^) Always listen to candidates story properly, this will help in contributing towards the common story.

Do’s and don'ts's of Discussion

  • (^) Don’t look at assessors, look at candidates eyes only.
  • When another candidate is speaking, listen him.
  • (^) Don’t see downward.
  • (^) Don’t cut anyone in between.
  • (^) Don’t repeat points.
  • (^) Don’t trace back the group to already discussed thing or the things that not contribute in common story.
  • Always focus on common story not on characters, mood and hero.
  • (^) Pick small details and points that are similar and support such candidates.
  • (^) Always address each candidate by turning head toward each.
  • (^) Have a smile on your face.
  • (^) Don’t stick to your own story. Only support your story if group members have supported.
