Parth is a rich and successful businessman residing in Chandigarh along with his wife
Pritha and daughter Kriti who had just turned 18. Pritha also helped Parth in his business and
was very close to Kartik whom she had introduced as her distant cousin. Karthik had just
graduated from college and wanted to become a business man so Pritha invited him to
Chandigarh to live with her family. Over the course of time Kriti and Kartik became very
good friends but this fact troubled Pritha a lot. She would often ask Kartik and Kriti to stay
away from each other and concentrate on their separate lives. Parth was puzzled by this
attitude of his wife and had asked her the reason for such behaviour, to which she made up
some excuse that roused Parth’s suspicion further.
Pritha was adamant to separate the two so she made plans to send Kriti to the USA for
higher studies. Kriti was upset at this because she wanted to stay close to Kartik but her
mother did not relent and eventually after many fights she went to the USA. Kartik was also
very concerned with this behaviour of his cousin and pestered her to tell him the reason
which turned into a heated argument. Pritha then told Kartik that he is not her distant cousin
but her son and so she was uncomfortable with the growing affection between her daughter
and him.
Parth on hearing this got enraged and started shouting at Kartik and his wife who was
already upset. He threatened to kill both her and her son. She also did not back down from the
fight and eventually it turned physical. Kartik was shocked at this behaviour but intervened in
the fight in order to stop Pritha and Parth. Parth then pushed Kartik and also punched him in
the face. Kartik pushed Parth so forcefully that he struck his head on the wall and then fell to
the floor and started bleeding from his head.
On hearing the commotion, the servants came running and witnessed the entire
incident. They called the ambulance and Parth was pronounced dead on arrival. Kartik was
arrested for murder. Argue the case from both sides.
