Web based spatial information system for Delhi Airport by using LiDAR and WebGIS technologies
Digital Twin BIM (Building Information Modeling) of the complete airport infrastructure coupled with sensors supports predictive analysis of O&M rather than reactive. All departments of the airport working off the same GIS dashboard can take informed technology supported decisions for improved efficiency and effectiveness while the impact is visible to all. GIS Dashboard Simulations aid in assessing the consequences of decisions, leading to optimized solutions for space management, passenger flow, and baggage handling. By leveraging BIM, sensors, and GIS, airports can elevate their operational capabilities, improving overall performance and passenger experience.
Airport Planning and Design Geospatial data is used to analyze terrain, land use patterns, and environmental factors towards technology supported airport planning and design. This includes determining suitable locations for runways, taxiways, terminals, water resource optimization, solar potential optimization and other infrastructure components while considering factors such as earthwork calculations, obstacle limitation surfaces and environmental impact. Geospatial technology is integrated into air traffic management systems to monitor and manage the movement of aircraft both on the ground and in the air.
