Lab 1
An introduction to the NI ELVIS II test equipment
Part A: Getting started.
In part A, we knew how to plug the Emona DATEx
experimental add-in module into the NI ELVIS II.
Part B: The NI ELVIS II Digital Multimeter.
The NI ELVIS II Digital Multimeter (DMM) can
measure the following electrical properties: DC & AC voltages, DC & AC currents, resistance,
capacitance, and inductance. Its functioning is then briefly described.
Question 1: Even though the multimeter is not linked to anything that
represents static energy, the measurements show low
voltage/current levels.
Part C: The NI ELVIS II Variable Power Supplies
The NI ELVIS II Variable Power Supplies (VPS) is a
device that can concurrently output two DC voltages (one positive
and one negative) to Emona DATEx terminals. Its functioning is
briefly detailed next.

When I changed the Power Supply Negative Voltage control, the power supply changed, and when I compared the on-screen values of the two virtual devices, they were pretty comparable but with tiny variations. It is possible that this inaccuracy is insignificant for a variety of objective or subjective reasons. Part D: The NI ELVIS II Oscilloscope The NI ELVIS II Oscilloscope (or simply "scope") is a fully functioning twin channel oscilloscope that allows engineers and technicians to measure and examine AC waveforms. Its functioning is briefly detailed next. Rms voltage 1.248 V Frequency 2.084 kHz Peak to peak 3.655 V Period 0.48 ms
