I. Breadboard layout:
Use the “Edit” option in Adobe Acrobat to add lines to the following diagram, showing the connections among the various parts of the breadboard. Not every connection must be shown, but at least one connection of each type must be show, so that a reader can understand the functional layout of the breadboard.
II. Calculated Uncertainty – the Trimming Potentiometer Resistances Data: 𝑅 = 𝑅𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 = 𝑅, = 𝑅𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 = 𝑅 = 𝑅𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 = 𝑀𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑀𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑙: Agilent 34405A Keysight 34450A (circle one)
Calculate: a. The uncertainty of each of the three measurements. SHOW AN EXAMPLE CALCULATION.
b. The calculated resistance between A and C, 𝑅,. Also calculate the associated uncertainty, 𝑢ோಲ,ೌ. SHOW THE CALCULATION DETAILS.
Question: Do 𝑅, and 𝑅, overlap? Explain.
IV. Measuring Current Data:
𝑅𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 =
𝑅𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 =
Calculate: a. The current through the circuit using the voltage dropped 470 Ω resistor. Also over the calculate the associated uncertainty in that measurement using the equation ටቀ (^) డడ 𝑢ቁଶ + ቀ (^) డோడ 𝑢ோቁଶ. Keep in mind: the partial derivative of the current with respect to the resistance is not 1.0. SHOW CALCULATION DETAILS - RESULTS ALONE ARE NOT SUFFICIENT.
b. The current through the circuit using the voltage dropped over the shunt resistor. Again calculate the associated uncertainty in that calculation. SHOW CALCULATION DETAILS.
Question: Do the currents calculated using the two approaches overlap? Explain/discuss.
