Culinary tourism or food tourism or gastronomy tourism is the active pursuit of unique and memorable eating and drinking experience. It means experiencing the food of the country, region or area. It is also the experience that connect what is being grown and produced in an area to what is being prepared and enjoyed by locals. In India, culinary tourism offers visitors the opportunity to explore the country’s diverse culinary traditions, learn about the ingredients used in different regions and participate in cooking classes and food tours. India is home to a multidimensional and eclectic mix of cultures resulting in a variety of food traditions. There is no single dish that represents the country, rather, India culinary tradition vary greatly from region to region such as northern region which included flat breads as roti, puri, chapattis etc whereas southern region includes dosas, idli, rice served with sambar or chutney and northwest region includes simpler cuisines such as rice and flat breads etc. where eastern region includes seafood such as freshwater fish, prawns and crabs etc there are many more regions further. Ancient civilizations have a long and rich history of gastronomic travel. For instance, the Greeks and Romans were renowned for their enjoyment of food and drink, and their feasts were legendary. However, the development of contemporary gastronomy tourism did not start until the 19th century. People started looking for novel and fascinating gastronomic experiences as a result of easier and more affordable travel options made possible by the development of the railway. Also, wine culture has a lengthy and illustrious past that dates back thousands of years. From the Greeks and Romans to the French and Italians, wine has been a fundamental part of many cultures. The Middle Ages saw an increase in wine production and consumption, and throughout this period, wine came to be seen as a symbol of elegance and luxury. Throughout history, people have prepared food which was sourced from, and influenced by, their immediate surroundings and circumstances, and its consumption has always been fundamental to civilization and daily life. Culinary tourism has become increasingly popular in recent years, people travel to different global destination to explore more food cultures and cuisines. Here are some of the best destinations for the culinary tourism. None other than India, also known as Bharat, will be the first. There are so many wonderful places to visit in India, including cities and states with fascinating histories and places to see ancient events that happened. In India, there are many different religions, and one way to understand them is via food. Each city has a distinctive cuisine. For instance, vadapav is synonymous with Mumbai, locha is famous in Surat, and chats are famous in Delhi and so on. Next is Rome, Italy it is a classic culinary destination. The city is best known for its pasta dishes like rigatoni carbonara and cacio e pepe. It is also known for it is day trips where you can find pizza and pasta at every corner of the street. Bangkok is a foodie’s paradise, it’s one of the most affordable culinary destinations in the world. You can explore Bangkok’s many street food markets and try popular dishes like mango sticky rice, pad Thai, Thai curry and rice and green curry etc. there are also many more destinations in the world

This rise in revenue can afford local governments the ability to invest in marketing to tourists, which in turn can boost profits for local shops, restaurants, hotels and transportation services. An increase in culinary tourism can also instill in locals cultural pride and help ensure unemployment rates remain low, especially in rural areas with low economic activity. Tourists are interested in food that is produced and harvested in environmentally responsible ways. And this way it encourages restaurants and food providers to prioritize sustainable sourcing practices, which can lead to reduced ecological impact and support for sustainable fisheries and agriculture. This can help the tourisit get and quality assurance and good food and because of tha they may come again which is also more benifical to us.
