PREFACE This thesis is an effort to underline the importance of teaching of J. Krishnamurti relating to life and the world, i.e. life within and without. He is not only a man of realized personality, but also an eminent educationist. He has defined a new standard for educators, teachers, students, and guardians beyond traditional lineage and explained lackings of modern education. For him the truth is a land beyond paths. He had always direct talk with a man. He was of the opinion that society can be transformed only by getting individual consciousness free from contamination of all preoccupied thoughts and biasness. He created bridge of free sense of wisdom for human being to overcome all lacking lying within. He explained the property of heart and brain and emphasised on openness. Krishnamurti's solution of a problem would emerge not from politics or religion but from the insights about the human mind and also from understanding the true nature of education. Krishnamurti in his talks gives more attention to understand the various aspects of right education. Krishnamurti way of perceiving the problem starts with ourselves. He feels that, at present time a completely new approach to the postulates of education is necessary. His challenge is addressed not only to the structure of educational system but to the nature and quality of man, mind and life. For Krishnamurti, the core of our problem lies in understanding the human nature in its totality. Only then we can create a new civilisation and a new society.
