Exercise 1: Separately Excited DC motor

Aim To Simulate the dynamic modal of Separately Excited DC motor with field current constant and plot the electrical and mechanical characteristics curves and also analyze with theoretical results. Software Tools used: MATLAB Circuit details and input parameters: Armature Resistance Ra=1Ω,Armature inductance Armature inductance La=0.046H,Armature inductance Frictional coefficient B=0.008,Armature inductance Back emf constant k=0.55,Armature inductance Input voltage Va =220 volts,Armature inductance Moment of inertia J=0.093 Rated load=2.5HP A AA F FF j, B LOAD TL

  • Open M file and save it
  • Make Input Parameters & plots program in M file
  • Run the M file (input parameters &plot file)
  • Run the Simulink file &view the results
  • Make Plots by M file Script
  • Make Plots by M file Script

Exercise 2: Self Excited DC Shunt Motor^11

Aim: To Simulate the dynamic modal of a Self Excited DC Shunt Motor and plot various Characteristics curves and analyzes the results Software Requirement: MATLAB Circuit details and input parameters Ra = 0.6 ; Armature resistance in ohms La = 0.012; Armature Inductance in Henry Lf = 120; Field Inductance in Henry Rf = 240; Field Resistance in ohms J = 1; Moment of Inertia B = 0; Friction Coefficient Laf = 1.8; Mutual Inductance between field and armature Va = 240; Supply voltage W ; Speed of the DC Motor P = 2.5; Power

Procedure:

  • (^) Step1-Initialize the input parameters and write coding for the as per

requirement of plots in m file and save it

  • (^) Step 2-open new Simulink and make mathematical modelling as per

circuit diagram and save it

  • (^) Step3-Run the m file first ,Armature inductance after that run Simulink file
  • (^) Step4-View the result in Scope
  • (^) Step5- Again run m file and view the plots
  • (^) Step6-Make various plots and write the Results

Open M file and save it

Run the M file (input parameters file)

Run the Simulink file & view the results scope
