2: BACKGROUND
The main objective of this walk-through audit is to identify, how energy is
being used in NSIC administration block and help identify practical and cost
effective energy saving measures that will reduce energy use and lowers
operating cost.
2.1 AUDIT SCOPE AND LIMITATION:
This audit report will:
Evaluate NSIC Administration block’s overall energy performance.
Highlight number of improvement opportunities.
Provide an estimation of payback period.
In this walkthrough audit, the following major building-related activities were
investigated:
Lighting consumption
Ventilation
2.2 METHODOLOGY
The following activities were performed during and after the Walkthrough
Audit in NSIC:
● Analysis of existing Baseline Energy Consumption(BEC)
● Site inspection and Data collection
● A written report detailing findings, recommendations, approximate costing
and savings with payback times.
2.3 SITE INFORMATION:
The NSIC Administrative block comprises of:
Ground floor First floor
Classroom I Training hall I
Computer lab Computer hardware lab
Seminar hall VLSI lab
Cisco metering hall Embedded systems lab
Electronics maintenance lab Training Hall II
3: ENERGY CONSUMPTION
The major energy consumptions at this facility are:
Ventilation and Air Conditioning (VAC)
Personal computer
Lighting
3.1 SPECIFIC ENERGY CONSUMPTION:
4: DETAILED BUILDING PLAN:

INVESTMENT Replacing tube lights with LED bulbs and lights.
Replacing Fans with Energy Efficient Fans
NOTES:
If the functioning ACs are to be changed, it can be replaced with BEE
certified 5 star rated ACs.
Installation of Occupancy sensors helps in the reduction of lighting
hours.
