Overview
Black Book Digital features include: four market driven Black Book vehicle values for more than 40,000 vehicles spanning back to model year 1981, value adjustments for region, mileage, and optional equipment, value matrixes showing each value adjustment, history of vehicle lookups, enhanced Quick List, VIN scanner, and photo and video capability.
This document provides usage information for all capabilities of Black Book Digital.

Getting Started
- Open the App Store on your device
- Search for Black Book Digital
- Install the app
- Open Black Book Digital
- Once the app loads, you will be presented with a login screen. Enter your username and password and touch Login.

Dashboard
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be presented with the Dashboard. Here you can quickly access any of the main features of Black Book Digital.
From the Dashboard you can quickly access the VIN Scanner, manual search, your Q-List, History (your previous 25 searches), Settings (More..), or Current Vehicle (last vehicle you searched for). These features can be accessed from the list menu or from the bottom navigation bar. If an icon is highlighted on the navigation bar, that means you are currently on that feature. The following icons are used throughout the Black Book Digital app to access different features:

VIN Scan
You can access the VIN scanner through the Dashboard or from the bottom navigation bar. Our VIN scanner will scan any VIN barcode or data matrix code. Once the VIN is scanned, the values page will appear.

Touch anywhere on a Q-List row to reveal the action panel. This panel allows you to access the values screen, share via email, edit the entry, delete the entry, or take and attach photos or videos.
There is also a bulk-deleting feature in the Q-List. To enable bulk-deleting, touch the pen icon in the top right corner of the Q-List screen. You will notice that checkboxes appear when the pen icon is touched. Touch the checkbox(es) next to the vehicles you wish to delete, and then touch the delete icon to delete the selected vehicles.

History
The History screen can be accessed from the Dashboard and contains the last 25 vehicles you have searched for. Touching any vehicle on the History screen will take you directly to the values screen. It is important to note that adjustments are not saved for vehicles in history. To save adjustments, please add the vehicle to your Q-List.

The Settings screen allows you to customize Black Book Digital to your preferences. Access the Settings screen from any navigation bar to update the database (values), access the Profile screen, or enter your CARFAX® or AutoCheck® credentials.

Values Screen
The values screen encompasses all the information you need to make profitable decisions. It is organized into modules that can be expanded or collapsed to show or hide data by touching the header of any module. You also have the option to hide or show modules from the Profile screen.
The values page first shows the vehicle year, make, model, and series. Next is the Vehicle Info module. Here you can see MSRP, Finance Advance™, Equipped Retail, VIN, UVC, and MPG. The icon on the top left of the Vehicle Info section allows you to add the vehicle to your Q-List , while the icon on the top right allows you to share this vehicle via email.
The next module is Adjustments. Use the buttons in this module to apply mileage, region, or option adjustments. A red checkmark icon will appear when an adjustment is affecting the Black Book values.
The values module is displayed next. Here you can view Wholesale, Retail, and Trade-In values. Each adjustment is displayed as a line item so that you can see exactly how each adjustment is affecting the overall value. Conditions are displayed as column headers while adjustment and total values are displayed as rows. Swipe left or right to switch between Wholesale, Retail, and Trade-In values. The publish date displays in the values module header, letting you know when you last updated the database. You can always update your database in the Settings screen.

This history report modules are displayed after the values module. CARFAX® and AutoCheck® modules are displayed independently. Make sure to enter your CARFAX® and/or AutoCheck® credentials in the Settings screen. To expand either module, simply touch on the header to expand.

For each transaction the following data is displayed: Date, Region, Sale Type, Miles, and Price. You can sort by any column by clicking on the header of the column you wish to sort by. You can narrow results of the market report further by touching the Region or Sale Type buttons. These buttons allow you to select specific Region or Sale Types to display.

The Specification module allows you to email the full specifications PDF document. Simply touch the icon and enter the recipient’s address.
The Vehicle Photo module displays a photo of the vehicle.
