Cultural Development
Starting with the development of human society, cultural
change takes place in different transitional
phases. From caves
to hunting and gathering societies and civilizations, culture undergo fundamental
changes. Over the period of time certain technological, biological and natural factors change the
cultural patterns of societies. Cultural anthropologists are especially con
cerned about the development
of cultures and these fundamental changes.
Activity:
Your task is to explore the history of one million years and locate the different phases of social and
cultural development. In this regard you are supposed to prepare a de
velopment tree or table that
consists of all the phases of cultural development. 05
After giving the graphical representation of table, explain how material culture, family and kinship
establish over this period of time? 05
In your opinion which theory
of cultural anthropology most appropriately justifies this development
and how? 05
