The construction of bridges and culverts has the potential to affect the environment in many ways. They can differ
widely in terms of their mode of operation and location, and key issues are likely to vary from site to site. Therefore, it is recommended that expert advice on detailed technical issues be obtained. The issues arising for all environmental receptors will change over time as the site is prepared and managed and following the end of operations. Developers and site operators should therefore consider the impacts arising from both construction activities and operational practices, and following the end of on-site activities. Bridge and culvert projects will have implications for land-take, the physical characteristics and land use of the site. Issues to consider include the effect on landscape character from change in land use, soil erosion and compaction resulting from the construction and decommissioning phases of the development. In order to minimize potential impacts on the water environment in the design and running of bridge and culverting operations, the project proponent must ensure that:
Construction activities may also have significant impacts on groundwater hydrology and quality. The site may need to be drained to provide suitable conditions for the engineering works to occur, resulting in temporary changes to ground flow. Also, soil contaminated from a previous land use may be disturbed during construction works, causing pollutants such as heavy metals to enter ground and surface waters.
Initao national park is a portion of initao liberated marine waters situated in the municipalities of initao and liberated, province of misamis oriental as a protected area and its peripheral area as buffer zone pursuant to republic act 7586 (nipas act of 1992) and shall be known as initao liberated protected landscape and seascape.
The park has a good effect to the environment because it help to control the pollution, give more fresh air,, help to hold the soil inn avoiding soil erosion, it give more habitat for the animals.
Conclusion:
When considering environmental issues in construction and life cycle, some focus on evaluation of manufactured products in terms of waste disposal (although a product’s end-use can account for as much as 90 percent of a product’s impact on the environment). Instead, a host of factors and influences of a product’s impact on society should be evaluated and contrasted to the product’s performance. A systems approach allows for determination of the environmental impact of a product in terms of energy consumption at each state of a product’s life cycle, beginning at the point of raw materials extraction from the earth and proceeding through processing, manufacturing, fabrication, end-use and disposal.
