Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder
In order to explain a story, one needs to review what has been seen or obtain
a clear view. Or for the same matter, some literary pieces clarify or explain other
pieces of work without intentions of describing what has been told. Charles
Baudelaire was able to do so with his book of poems called Flowers of Evil.
Baudelaire’s particular piece contains a poem called Beauty, which tells the story of
the movie Little Miss Sunshine.
One of the main focuses throughout Little Miss Sunshine is that the family has
a daughter who entered a beauty pageant. Even though the family already knew
that she was beautiful in her own special way, they still allowed for her to do the
pageant because it was something that she really wanted to do. For her family
beauty did not have to be judged, because she showed “enchantment round their

much and were always seen associating with one another. That is until the day that the grandfather passed away. I believe that this is a metaphor explaining how “beauty flames and dies”. (Baudelaire 25) But in this case the love never really dies; it just gets stronger. She shows little emotion to the death of her grandfather, because she knows no matter what she is always with him. Beauty isn’t about what is on the outside. It is about a person’s qualities on the inside and how one views certain things as a whole. It should not take a beauty contest to find out who looks the best or who has the greatest qualities out of the group. Because when reality strikes, we all are just as beautiful as the person right next to us.
